Here we are sliding into a new year and need to have some activities for our classrooms.
Sing a Song:
I love song cheers because they are easy to learn and the kids love to make all that noise. Here's a good one. Sing it to the tune of "Are You Sleeping".
Happy New Year!

Make Some Noise Makers:
Rice-A-Raca from About.Com
Football Noisemaker from Ehow--this could be adapted to a New Year Noisemaker
Print Out and Decorate Party Hats from Printable Family: These are actually for birthday parties but would work well for New Year's too!
Make a Bulletin Board:
This one is easy. Put a great big 2009 on your bulletin board. Then ask the the kids what their resolution for the year is. Write those resolutions in the 2009 lettering. If you have a picture of the child to go along with the resolution--even better.
Here's an apple juice and graham cracker toast to 2009!
