Have you ever read the book Flat Stanley? If you haven't, it is about this little boy who is accidentally flattened by a bulletin board and becomes flat. With this new talent he finds he can slide under doors, go on vacation in an envelope, slide through grates to retrieve lost items and even pose in a picture frame and help capture art thieves at a museum. It is a delightful story but even more, kids read and think about what it would really be like to be flat. Elementary schools use this story to teach about letter writing and kids never forget it. I have been working on an adaptation of this idea for preschools with an emphasis on early childhood concepts. Stay tuned....I will offer it for free to my blog readers for a few days and then sell it over at Teachers Pay Teachers.
